Mobility startups from Israel raised over $800 million in 2017. One catalyst for this investment activity is Maniv Mobility, a venture capital fund founded by Michael Granoff, an American-born entrepreneur living (but not driving) in Tel Aviv. Since its creation 2015, Maniv has doubled in size, and the firm's portfolio includes companies like Phantom Auto, which creates remote control software for autonomous vehicles.
